Nikos Kalaitzidis was born 27 years ago in Thessaloniki, Greece. He studied painting and drawing for 5 years along with scenography and costumes design in Thessaloniki’s College of Art and Culture. Nikos has designed over 20 theatrical plays so far as well as one short movie and a music video clip. A milestone of his to date career was in 2005 when he won the National Award for Best Theatrical Costumes Design. Not very long after the latter, another award came for the short haul film “Protectionâ€which won the Best Film award in an international and national festival, where Nikos designed its costumes.
“I am trying to understand the power of theatre and its use. The only way I can get into that is to work with different people in different plays being viewed by different audience. In spite of everything, being different is what makes our lives interesting. Don’t you agree my friends?â€
