Skills
Freelance… Artist, Designer and Maker.
CV
I have a broad skill base that ranges right through from concept to actualisation.
I live and breathe creating. Constantly making or researching. I am always interested in learning new skills and enjoy the challenge of pushing and developing the ones I have.
My passion for creativity has always been underpinned by an interest in the human form and condition. My belief is that clothes, and in particular costume, highlight elements of the character and provide a context far beyond simple decoration. My design work always has strong signifiers, going beyond pure function in order to help create a world in which every element plays its part in conveying the sentiment of the piece.
I am a resourceful and determined worker who enjoys the challenge of a demanding project as much as the attention to detail involved in everyday work.
I have a particular interest in large scale costume puppets.
My skillbase includes
Painting (brush and spray), Sewing, fibreglass rod structures, plastazote structures, drawing, costume making, design, casting, fibreglass and resin casting, glass fusing and slumping, wire sculpting, carpentry, metal construction, low tech animatronics, movement mechanisms and photography.
Education
BA Hons Fine Art, UCE Birmingham, UK.
