Step into the tranquil, hermetic world of Matisse as depicted by our first-year Theatre and Performance Design and Technology students, who present an exhibition of installations and set designs inspired by the French artist, for you to examine and explore. The event is a showcase of their creativity and of their developing skills in the areas of model making, lighting, and scenic construction and painting.
Henri Matisse (1869-1954) lived through some of the most turbulent times in modern history but his brush was never a conduit for the pain and anguish of the world outside his studio, critics argue. His bright, colourful works reflect a sense of harmony and balance, two themes that our students embraced when conceiving their projects.
This event is free of charge.
No ticket or pre-booking is required.
