Design as performance gives schools the chance to bring performances and installations to
Scenofest. The project consists of two opportunities.
1. Street Stories
This project allows groups of students to bring a 30 minute performance to Jungmannovo Square in the center of Prague. The performances should use easily portable technologies and require no stage, set up and strike times will be limited to ten minutes each.
There are 50 slots for Street Stories only. Applications to take part must be submitted via the PQ site by October 30, 2010. Successful applicants will be informed by November 30, 2010.
The fee per group is: 30 Euros
Street stories will run from June 16, 2011 to June 26, 2011 – daily performances at 10 am, 12 pm, 2pm, 4 pm and 6 pm.
2. DISK Stories
This project gives schools the opportunity to present a performance in the
DISK Theatre at DAMU, Prague. The performances should feature sound and light as the
driving force behind the narrative or concept. The performances can last maximum 1 hour
and should also feature a short discussion with the teachers and students about the
pedagogy and process involved in creating the work.
There are just 8 slots for Disk Stories and priority will be given to innovative work in both its
pedagogical and its interdisciplinary approach.
The Fee per group is: 90 Euros
If your school would like to submit a proposal for either of the Design as Performance projects, please complete the application form on the website by October 30th 2010. Successful applicants will be informed by November 30, 2010. Schools shall confirm their participation, agree their performance date and pay the fee by December 15, 2010.
Disk stories will take its course from June 16, 2011 to June 23, 2011 – Each successful school will have one performance at 8 pm.
