Technical Drawing Lines

Examples of commonly used line types in Theatrical Technical Drawing.

Visible Outline Medium Line Weight (0.35) Visible Outline lines are used to describe the shape of objects, e.g; a table/wall/object on the stage.

Standard Dimension Line Light Line Weight (0.18) Used to describe the measurement taken between two points.

Section Outline Heavy Line Weight (0.5) Used to describe a cut in an object.

Section Interior/Cutaway Heavy Line weight (0.5) Cross hatching used to describe the interior of a solid object, e.g; the inside of a wall.

Cutting Plane Heavy Line Weight (0.5) Shows where a section has been constructed from a plan.

Concealed Construction Medium Line Weight (0.35) Describes object or details below or behind a visible object or surface.

Ceiling Line Light Line Weight (0.18) Objects above the horizontal section line.
